i have cut to the feeling on repeat
[Scene: two losers go to a shopping mall, because Daichi was wandering around looking disappointed in himself yet again and Joe has Better Ideas Than That. Daichi can't remember if he was actually asked if he wanted to be here, or if he was simply dragged along for the ride again and couldn't refuse once they were already at the mall. Joe just happens so much at once, despite all of Daichi's half-hearted complaining, so... here they are.
At the mall. Daichi is, at least, not sulking about whatever he was feeling inadequate about before. Instead:]
Man, my feet hurt... [Here, he affects his best (worst) Joe Voice:] Let's go shopping, Daichi! It'll be fun! —It's been nearly three hours and all we have to show for it is one magazine. C'mon, you could have done this without me.
[This menace... Why is he here, Joe? Why??]

[ joe: always getting in joe's way. the fingers in his hair are still stupidly nice and he is fully aware daichi could smack him upside the head and end this "moment" at any point. he counts his lucky stars that it hasn't happened yet. ]
I'm honored, Dai.
[ he's smiling that smile again and look, have an eskimo kiss. aha! ]
no subject
This dude.]
Joe... [the heart attack. it's here. it's because Joe was too much of a dweeb.] Look, that's great, I'm not saying that isn't appreciated because it is, but are you going to kiss me or not?
no subject
Yes, sir.
[ like a gentleman, he'll gently reach up with a hand and cup a cheek, tilting his own head so as not to bump noses when he leans in. it's not rocket science but he figures daichi may need some guidance this first time.
so he kisses him with a surprising amount of gentleness. ]
no subject
Still, it's all he can do to just lean into Joe and hope for the best. This basically took all of his first kiss fantasies and broke them over its knee... but kissing Joe is, apparently, just as soft and warm and heart-fluttering as he imagined kissing some cute girls might be.
Weird. Well—good weird? Don't ask him to think.]
no subject
joe will even be considerate and use his free hand to rest it flat against daichi's lower back. just in case he needs some support. he's such a gentleman, too, because he's keeping the kiss slow and chaste - adding a bit more pressure, though. listen he isn't going to do any of that weird tongue crap. it's daichi's first kiss he isn't a depraved hooligan.
most of the time. ]
no subject
But kissing is cool, he's into it, he's trying not to break into a smile like the dang fool that he is and spoil it too quickly. So this isn't a first kiss for the romance record books, but considering the two of them, this was definitely how it was always going to wind up. He doesn't know what to do with his other hand, kind of hovering near Joe's shoulder before he settles for sliding it around to rest at the back of his neck.
Meanwhile on screen, that old lady definitely killed that dude in the first five minutes. Joe didn't even wait for the big twist.]
no subject
the hand at his neck is surprising but it's a good thing. at least daichi hasn't frozen up and had second thoughts about this already. sweet. so allow him the honor of breaking the kiss for a moment for "air" before he goes back in for a second, tilting daichi's head just a but so he can kiss him harder.
you had your butterfly and gentle first kiss, daichi. appreciate it. ]
no subject
Anyway, air: nice. Way more Joe than a second ago: still nice, but in a more intense way. He makes a noise in the back of his throat, low, surprised? But still not changing his mind. His fingers curl in Joe's hair and he leans more insistently into the kiss, which might seem thirsty and inexperienced... which it is, but he's also hyping himself up to not make a fool of himself.
Not much, anyway. Kiss him like you mean it, Akie.]
no subject
the insistence on daichi's end is all he needs to be certain that things are going well and there's a green light to proceed. so he proceeds. the hand cupping daichi's face falls away to instead find a place on the back of daichi's head. the kiss turns a bit more involved, teeth ever so slightly scraping at a bottom lip just for flair. there's no such thing as coming up for air at this point. just angle your head more so you can breathe through your nose. it's not hard?
is that enough to show he means it, daichi? ]
no subject
Either way, he's clumsy at best, but earnest and he thinks he should get points for effort. He's got a great idea right now, which is what if they weren't sitting upright? It seems like a good plan to go back to nice, comfy leaning, but also with making out??
He conveys this by trying to keep kissing but also lean back at the same time. Just come on.]
no subject
it's actually a pretty decent one. joe isn't an idiot and is decent at picking up body language. as naturally as he can without leaning too much against daichi - don't crush the dude - he follows his leaning. cozy leaning is great but given what's happening leaning is going to result in laying horizontal against the arm-rest. because that's how these things work. totally.
joe is fairly certain he's met the good boyfriend sweet kiss quota so he's going for that next level shit. and by that, it totally means he's going to swipe against daichi's lips. just once. you know, make sure he won't combust from it. ]
no subject
Then, the sputtering—or another stupid noise, since his mouth is pretty thoroughly occupied. So this is how fast people who've actually been in relationships move... (it's not fast, daichi).
Well, he hasn't combusted. He's starting to feel like his head is actually going to catch fire, but whatever, he'll go with it. It takes him a second to actually part his lips a little, since Joe can't read his goddamn mind. Daichi, keeping up!!]
no subject
for daichi's sanity he's considered stopping to catch their breaths but there's two problems with that. one, one of them will say something stupid. like that whole boyfriend thing. two? he has to stop. like, actually stop, and daichi is warm and receptive to this idea. so like hell is stopping a current contender.
joe won't go straight for tongue down throat kissing. instead, he'll lazily drag his tongue against his lips and just flick against the seam of his lips to try and coax some sort of reaction out of daichi. for better or for worse. ]
no subject
He's doomed, isn't he? Probably. If they stopped now he might, he doesn't know, suddenly claim he has to go to the bathroom and bolt for a couple minutes rather than try to think of something to say that isn't fuck stupid, so this is for the best. Not stopping. Joe is a comfortable weight against him anyway, and so Daichi makes the executive decision to not shoot himself in the foot after he did that all afternoon.
Kissing is great. His head is going to explode. He does not know how to kiss with tongue at all, and in fact his first reaction is to lightly tug on Joe's hair like he's definitely being mocked via smooch and he doesn't appreciate that!! They're not any good with words, so how was nonverbal communication going to go any smoother?
But okay. Okay. Joe earns his mouth opening to him a little more, and a sort of... content hum. This is the best he can do.]
no subject
the noise coming from daichi's mouth is downright addicting. maybe that's why joe stops hesitating (or taking his sweet ass time) and plunges his tongue between daichi's lips and into his mouth. his hand on the back of daichi's head tightens, not tangling in his hair but just holding tightly. his free hand is wedged between them for support, somewhere against the couch cushions.
joe hasn't exactly planned out the what comes next. after the kissing. so long as daichi doesn't run that's a success in his book and he he can't quite count his blessings yet. but yeah, tongue in mouth that's curling to trace against the hard palette of daichi's mouth. ]
no subject
For the record, tonguing him probably toes the pure and sweet line a little bit, but if Joe is thrilled by Daichi making noises he's going to get another one right now, most definitely more flustered than the last. Okay, he doesn't know what he's doing, okay—
Damn it?? While his thoughts catch up with the rest of him he moves unconsciously, running fingers more gently through Joe's hair without pulling this time while he moves his other hand around to press against his chest. Or, well. Just grab a goddamn handful of that dress shirt, as if Joe is going to abruptly roll away.
He still doesn't know what to do with his mouth, so he'll just try to mimic what Joe does, which is going to go great for him - now, tentatively pressing back with his tongue.]
no subject
joe actually trembles at the reciprocation. it's nothing terribly noticeable but at least it's a great indicator that daichi is right on track. even if the kiss is woefully inexperienced, daichi's persistence and curiosity makes that part easy to overlook. or maybe joe's just been beating himself up over this for some so long.
either way, joe will take the initiative to do that whole tongue tangling thing. his hand slips forward some and his index finger and thumb very gently begin to brush half-lines down daichi's neck. ]
no subject
If he thinks too hard about the precise mechanics of bumping his tongue clumsily against Joe's he's going to, like, laugh or something, so he sticks with the physical and saves up all his half-insecure, half-snarky commentary for later. For now he'll stick with following Joe's lead, tilting his head for a more comfortable angle to do this at. The touch against his neck makes him shiver - really embarrassing - and he curls his fingers tighter in Joe's shirt for it. Yeah, cool, do that. Whatever that is, cool.
But with makeouts sans combustion comes overconfidence - or in Daichi's case, the urge to do something he probably saw in a steamy film he wasn't supposed to be watching on late night TV when he was like 13. The something is sucking on Joe's tongue a little, and waiting for the earth to open under this couch and swallow him whole immediately after he does it.]
no subject
it's kind of ridiculous and not exactly as erotic as movies make it out to be. tongue sucking is not some fantastic thing, but given the adrenaline on noes end he doesn't mind. it almost feels ticklish - if that's a thing - and he isn't sure if anyone else has ever done that before but hey he'll gladly let daichi stumble through this. it's not like he's doing anything too outlandish.
so while daichi is on mission mouth, joe lets his hand map out daichi's neck and then his nape. his blunt nails trace along the skin and play with the small hairs at his nape when he arrives. the first time got a decent reaction so why not?
but whoa. have joe's other hand comfortably using daichi's hip as a handrest. ]
no subject
Joe didn't immediately give up on him for being totally unsexy? Great! Well, Daichi isn't married to the whole tongue sucking thing, so before long he'll go back to the comfortable(?), familiar(?) option of just exploring the shape of Joe's mouth. That's what he's doing when nails against his skin draw another soft noise out of him; don't, like, go crazy and scrape him or anything, but there's something oddly comforting about how intimate that simple touch is. He will never articulate this in words, only hums.
And that's his hip, well, alright. He's practically melted from the thing with the nails already, and yet he still manages to spare a hand - the one in his hair, sorry big guy - to wiggle down and cover Joe's. He's not moving his hand, just holding it... again. Sap.]
no subject
his nails aren't sharp enough to leave marks. or at least he isn't really scratching so much as letting them glide along warm skin for the effect. daichi's hand covering his is insanely comfortable and he thinks this moment right here is perfect to catch his breath. because his heart is doing a marathon and he strangely feels a tad light headed. you did well, kid. ]
Hmm...
[ he doesn't move far, forehead against daichi's, eyes now halfway open. ]
no subject
After a moment he loosens his intense grip on Joe's shirt, but doesn't pull his hand away just yet. Hmm.]
I... [what is it, is it adult words] I think you swooned before I did.
[hm, so no.]
no subject
[ but he's not refuting the fact that he sort of swooned. the buildup to all of this had been surreal and the fact it was mutual was all the better. so sue an adult for swooning so easily. ]
I'll surprise you when you least expect.
[ nose boop activated! ]
no subject
[Kiss him a few times and he acts like this... But he makes a face at that nose boop and there goes his stupid attitude, withering back down into the usual doofus.
Buuuut stupid overconfidence or not, he's still happy, so enjoy a definitely affectionate hand squeeze now.]
no subject
[ he's repeating it for the absurdity. but joe just grins, unabashedly fond, and he makes a bit of a show of tilting his head so he can press butterfly kisses to daichi's neck.
there you jerk. try and sputter your way through that! ]
