i have cut to the feeling on repeat
[Scene: two losers go to a shopping mall, because Daichi was wandering around looking disappointed in himself yet again and Joe has Better Ideas Than That. Daichi can't remember if he was actually asked if he wanted to be here, or if he was simply dragged along for the ride again and couldn't refuse once they were already at the mall. Joe just happens so much at once, despite all of Daichi's half-hearted complaining, so... here they are.
At the mall. Daichi is, at least, not sulking about whatever he was feeling inadequate about before. Instead:]
Man, my feet hurt... [Here, he affects his best (worst) Joe Voice:] Let's go shopping, Daichi! It'll be fun! —It's been nearly three hours and all we have to show for it is one magazine. C'mon, you could have done this without me.
[This menace... Why is he here, Joe? Why??]

but the way daichi is growing bolder is great. he isn't immune to the way his own breath seems to catch at random intervals, just this bit heavier than it was at the beginning of this ordeal. it's - different with daichi. not in a bad way. it's all sorts of exciting and new and he hasn't felt this electric over a hand on his chest in awhile. it isn't that erotic, okay, but it's definitely intimate.
so there's that. ]
It's usually flatter without the burger, ya know. [ yuzuru "never leaving a moment alone" akie, ladies and gentlemen. ]
no subject
thank god Joe has something stupid to say. Daichi blinks - that doesn't kill the mood, but it does make him laugh a little. he should have known more commentary was coming...]
You— shut up, Joe. I already like you.
[Joe's a big skinny nerd anyway, shut up, Daichi's already attracted to skinny nerds.]
no subject
there's a bright laugh and joe leans back for a moment, not out of daichi's grasp entirely but enough so he can make out the features of daichi's face. this soft boy. this idiot boy. he's smitten. ]
Smack me if the answer's no - [ that's a great start? ] but it'd probably be easier without it on.
[ the shirt. he means his own shirt. ]
no subject
he does not smack him, but wiggles his fingers against his chest very thoughtfully.]
So it's my turn to get you out of your clothes? [here, in bed. with infomercials playing in the background.] ...Yeah.
no subject
anyway, he grins at the comment and okay that was pretty smooth. he thinks it was smooth. look at him, he's impressed. ]
Yup. It's all you, Dai.
[ what in the fuck, okay. there's a look of encouragement, a smile. he dares you. ]
no subject
Well, it was your idea...
[but he's going for it, apparently. he's never taken off someone else's shirt and there's probably a sexier way to do it than just tugging the hem of his shirt up in the back without waiting for Joe to move back a little more. cooperate with him and get this off, dude.]
no subject
[ it was indeed his idea. how noble.
but he'll assist. slowly, joe leans back enough so that daichi's yanking of his shirt can be effective. joe will even lift his arms up so that the fabric can tug up and over his arms. he's being the most helpful person in the world. be thankful.
but yeah that's a whole new level of intimacy. touching under the shirt is one thing but taking it off completely? the whole package? he's going to make sure daichi doesn't start sputtering when it smacks him upside the head. ]
no subject
but first he's going to take a moment just to look at Joe - to check him out, yeah, but also to appreciate him. this is one of those moments where he almost can't believe something worked out romantically. that's dorky, and he can't think of a way to say "thanks for actually liking me" that conveys what he really wants to say, so for this feeling he has no words for he simply leans back in close and kisses him on the cheek.
and while he's here, close...] Flatter without burgers... You're so full of it.
[lookin good, he means. so.]
no subject
[ joe can you just shut the fuck up for two seconds. no? okay.
there's a slight shiver that rakes his body and it's partly because there's a draft and also because he hadn't ever imagined getting to this point with daichi. maybe hand-holding and awkward teasing but never something as concrete as this. it had been a silly fantasy that he couldn't let go of and now it was here, kissing his cheek. it was fantastic.
excuse him as he takes daichi's hand again and presses a kiss to the crest of each knuckle. yeah, romantic. ]
Dai, you flatter me. [ CAN YOU FUCKING STOP WITH THE JOKES. ]
no subject
no, Daichi is somehow really here. somehow he made it all the way to this moment from the vaguest of thoughts who knows how long ago that maybe guys are also alright, and Joe is pretty cute? everything else—well, they're both dorks who tend to escalate, so it shouldn't be so surprising that neither of them can really resist trying to express emotion like this. talking? pass. shirtless time? yeah.
all that said, he's just close enough to pick up Joe shivering and he's going to choose to believe it's definitely more his wild sex appeal than the draft. yeah, he's so hot??]
That is literally what I'm trying to do, yeah... [and Joe is still cracking jokes, please. please.] Thanks for keeping up.
no subject
wild sex appeal. more like wild and rampant teenage hormones. sure, that's a thing. totally. anyway, joe is not going to dwell on the specifics and instead grin at the well-received joke. okay good he hasn't ruined the mood. that's a relief.
speaking of that, he's going to bring daichi's hand up once more and kiss the center of his palm, eyes shutting. ]
Nah. No need for that. I'm already yours.
[ THERE IT FUCKING IS, DAICHI. ]
no subject
ah, but that next thing he does... damn, that's. damn. the mood goes from light and kinda-stupid-but-good-stupid to sitting heavy in his chest almost immediately. and not for a bad reason, just—god, he has so many feelings? he wanted Joe to say it properly because he thinks that's how these things are supposed to go, but to think that actually hearing something like that would yank at all of his emotions at once like it just did. uh, wow?
he feels a little bit like there's a puddle where his heart used to be, only not gross like that sounds. very certainly smitten.]
Oh. Y-yeah, I knew that.
[yeah, nailed it, that's good. he shifts his hand in Joe's to squeeze his fingers and then he's leaned back in, replacing his palm with his lips against Joe's as once again words fail him but this totally works. that's better.]
no subject
Better yet,
[ is this dangerous? ]
To show you I mean it, I'll stop stealing your scarf.
[ IT SOUNDS like a joke but it's not. it's actually something jokish with a sentimental twist. it's something that is distinctly them, distinctly joe, framed in a new light. ]
no subject
Oh, wow, I'm moving up in the world.
[dork... it's alright, he gets it. for all he makes noise about not ever understanding anything that goes through Joe's head, well - actually, he does! how nice.]
If you dragged me around like that again instead of holding my hand I think we'd be due for a serious talk about your weird impulses.
no subject
[ opening this can of worm with such a dramatic flourish!
but really, joe is grinning lazily and can't wait to hear this list. anyone else would probably not be interested or at least not as fascinated by this but joe is just sitting there eagerly. as if it's going to be FanTastic to hear about. ]
no subject
Besides grabbing whatever's around my neck all the time?
[...]
You sing about everything.
no subject
Music is the spice of life.
[ no it isn't??? ]
'kay. What else?
no subject
You say things like that. And you put fries in my face.
no subject
[ savage. ]
Love you too, Dai~
no subject
It wasn't a list of compliments...
[well, whatever, since he's starting to blush like a fool again he's going to plunk his forehead down on Joe's shoulder. hey, don't look at him.]
no subject
Sleepy?
[ he sounds so delighted. pleased with himself. whatever. his hand comes up and gently cards back through daichi's hair. ]
no subject
Nnn... maybe.
[he could sleep, but he's not dying to pass out asap. just hug him.]
Are you?
no subject
Impartial on the matter.
[ he says it almost a lilt as his arms twine around daichi, toying with the back of the hoodie, and consequently the hood, too. ]
no subject
Of course you are.
[Daichi still needs a moment to recover from that sweet dork line, so he's staying right where he is. after a moment he slides his arms around Joe's waist, loosely joining his hands behind his back. it's... cuddle time, until he gets thirsty again, which could be any minute now.]
no subject
I mean, I can sleep anytime. There's only so many chances I get to....
[ to do what? joe? joe?
yeah, you guessed it. he's going to plop the hood right on daichi's head. ]
