[It almost sounds like his own father, Ling thinks, but more criminal. And with fewer kids. And - and this is probably the big one - no attempted murder of the children.

So really, what they have in common is being complete assholes who are excellent at driving their sons away. Great. Ling hums low, leaning his head into Greed's hand and thinking.]

So you ran away. [Factual, without disapproval. It seems like the best choice he could have made, actually.] And that's as bad as insulting him to his face, I'm guessing?

Pretty much.

[He keeps moving his hand, soothed by the steady rhythm and the warmth of Ling above him.]

He'd like it best if I came back alive, I think, but fuck that. I'd rather keep running than ever go back to working for him.

[A beat, and he bares his teeth in a grin.]

At least he showed me how to run a gang real well.

[That's his Greed... always thinking about, uh, crime.]

Ah, you know, this explains a lot about why nobody would talk to me when I first came downtown.

[Thugs... thugs he now loves and cherishes, but thugs.]

You're lucky you're cute. Everybody wanted to jump you the first night.

[Oh, how they'll probably laugh about that someday.]

But yeah . . . nobody knew what the hell you were doing there, if you were somebody sent from somebody else or what.

[Cool... everyone wanted to mug him... Like, he sort of knew, but good to really know?]

Well, thank you for not mugging me in the alley...? I think.

I told you: if I'm gonna do anything to you in that alley, it's not gonna be mug you.

[His hand slides down, patting his ass gently. This, this is what he's talking about, in case Ling wasn't aware. And talking about this is way more preferable than focusing on his father or his siblings or what the hell they're going to do once Father gets sick of chasing after him, so well done, Ling.]

You were so scandalized the first time I brought that up.

[The word is disgusted.]

[Alley sex, still his favorite topic. He sticks out his tongue, to emphasize that he's still scandalized. And the alley isn't really the same anymore, but never mind that, just pat him on the ass some more--]

People vomit there all week long. I don't think I'm being unreasonable!

They do not, don't exaggerate. Most people've got a way better tolerance for you.

[He does indeed keep patting his ass, or at least settling his hands there to grope indiscriminately.]

Look, you gotta at least have some idea of what I'm talking about, you're dating me.

Yes, and you haven't taken me to the alley even once.

[His big, tough gang leader who is soft deep down, at least where Ling is concerned. Even while groping his ass. Ling can tell. He tilts his head up to kiss affectionately at Greed's jaw.

Local man not impressed by dumpsters and broken bottles, news at 11.]

I oughta just tell you that that's the only place I'll fuck you, you'd change your tune quick.

[He squeezes his ass for emphasis. Exhibit A: thirsty virgin arching his back to get touched a little more. But he's smiling now, some of his grief and rage and fear suppressed for the moment. Greed tips his head into that kiss, humming softly in pleasure.]

Nah. The first time I fuck you, it's gonna be somewhere good. Maybe my apartment, once we can go back there. I wanted to fuck you in your bed, make you be quiet so none of your bodyguards or your parents could hear--

[Speaking of which, hey, Lan Fan is probably right outside the door, having to listen to this shit, sorry gurl]

--but now, yeah, my apartment. Start real early in the evening so I can work you over at least three times. Maybe blow you the first time, let you come real fast while you fuck my mouth . . . because when I fuck you, I want you to last. [Hmmmmm, now who's thirsty.]

[Lan Fan has to listen to this and she is suffering, but so is Ling in a completely different way. He wasn't going to angle for fucking in the world's nastiest apartment with a dozen injured gang members and Lan Fan four feet away, of course he wasn't, but goddamn if Greed talking like that doesn't do it for him. Is there a cold shower in here... he can't get laid until Greed's apartment is safe...]

"At least three times"? [Okay, that's actually a little funny, does Greed have an itemized schedule of what that dick do--] That's only two. What's the third time like?

[Tell him, thirsty boy, really make his day and ruin Lan Fan's. Ling covers his face and neck with kisses more generously, squirming a little on top of him encouragingly.]

Yeah, at least three times, don't talk back or you won't get any at all.

[Honestly, Ling! But those kisses make up for it, as does all that squirming, hello, he likes that a whole lot. His hands shift, gripping his hips so he can yank him down as he rocks his own hips up, creating a heated sort of friction for the two of them.

Fucking hell, he thinks distantly, and tips his head to catch Ling in a heated kiss. Against his mouth, then:]

Mm-- I still haven't decided the third time. Maybe I'll see if I can talk you up to finishing. Or just bend you over something, see how long you could stand not knowing what was happening.

[It's funny, that's all. At least three times—three is good, at least is better, and he laughs a little in delighted surprise when Greed suddenly rocks against him. Yes, good, not nearly enough but it's good to be with Greed like this again, after the long week and - everything. In the back of his mind he remembers that Greed thought he would break up with him, like it was inevitable, a time limit on this relationship, but he can't think about it with Greed's mouth hot against his.

Later, he'll kill the mood with that. Later— He rocks his hips down more pointedly, slower. At least three times...!]

Both, [he says, local virgin overestimating just how long he can go for. But both is good.] Your kitchen counter?

Both,, he says . . . yeah, all right.

[He's got a way better estimate of how long Ling might be able to endure all that, but there's no harm in fantasizing that he'll be able to go all night. And who knows: maybe he'll just surprise him. Maybe he really will be able to go a third, fourth, fifth round, that lithe little body so desperately hungry for more that he'll surpass his exhaustion.

Probably not, but maybe.

He keeps tugging at his hips, moving in rhythm with the slower pace Ling's set, grinning against his mouth for what that does to him. Just like that, and he hasn't gotten any in a whole week, in months, and that's entirely been of his own choosing but it seems such a long time right now.]

Might as well get some use out of it in some way.

[Because it's never really been used for cooking.]

And you'd look so good over it, dressed in nothing but one of my shirts--

[The door rattles in its hinges, a loud little noise that means nothing. It's possible it's the wind, but more likely it's Lan Fan, doing her best to menace Greed even when she can't see him.

Naturally, he pitches his voice a little louder.]

I'd pin your hands down, fuck you, listen to you just begging me to touch you so you could get off--

[Almost certainly not, but it's tantalizing to think about. A whole night (after a nice dinner of course, somewhere nobody knows Ling's face this time, a little more Greed's style), every corner of Greed's apartment, another round for each time Greed riled him up like this and then kissed him all over his face and grinned and told him to go to sleep. Yeah, he'd like that. Sheer force of will could get him past his limit, he thinks, but he'll make it through a second round and sleepily demand another, then it's all downhill for Ling's stamina.

But the fantasy where Greed is pressed against him all night, all strong hands and flushed skin, saying all these filthy things in his ear instead of announcing them out to the world, to bother Lan Fan— yeah, that's a good one.

And leave Lan Fan alone, please, her temper isn't what he wants on his mind while he grinds against Greed and tries to imagine being bent over his kitchen counter. Angry bodyguard is not his kink...

He hums, a little frustrated in so many ways, curling his fingers into Greed's hair to tug lightly. Stop that, only pay attention to him.]

Yeah, yeah--

[Said with a laugh, but he turns his attention fully back on Ling, kissing him in semi-apology. It's probably against some law to tell the young lord how you plan on wrecking him when you're both alone again, but whatever, that's life now. He's not a lord, not anymore; he's Greed's, just Greed's, for whatever that might entail for the rest of their lives.]

Don't get too worked up, now . . .

[He mutters it against his ear as he, contrary to the last, rolls his hips up again, laughing softly to feel just how worked up Ling really is. Poor thing . . . he doesn't usually do this waiting thing, but it's definitely got a fair few advantages.]

Be pretty sad if our first time was you just finishing in your jeans.

[She'll call him lord for the rest of their lives, probably, until he can talk her into breaking that habit. But that's for later, like so many things, including Ling actually ending a night satisfied instead of too aroused and oversensitive, squirming at every light touch. The way Greed moves against him isn't light at all; Ling makes a soft noise and turns his head to kiss Greed again, hungrily.

Let him ruin these jeans, it will be worth it... No, no, self control. He's only going to do this a little longer, then sleep, for real. Maybe. "Sleep" is generous, but "just lie there," perhaps--]

You're so mean... [honestly, the worst.]

Yeah, but you like it.

[Still, he settles back down, lying flat on his back and grinning up at Ling. Dawn is already here, the grey dim light replaced by something brighter. Red and orange sunlight flits in through the broken shades, and he reaches one hand up, slotting his fingers around the back of Ling's neck and tugging him down even closer.]

I'll have you ride me one day.

[A whispered promise. He tips his head, kissing near his ear, before sighing softly.]

Come on. You and I can sleep a bit, at least, even if nobody else does.

[True romance: whispering sex positions like vows. Ling makes a face, caught between lustfully delighted and just laughing again, god, Greed— but he lets his head fall to rest against Greed's shoulder before he gets accused of talking back again.

He does like it, of course, he likes everything about Greed and that's why he's here, handing over his life to be part of Greed's no matter the cost. It's more than just the helpless desire to let Greed do whatever he wants to him. That is a lot, but...

Sleep; soon, someone will realize he and Lan Fan have disappeared completely, but that's as far as he lets his mind wander. Whether they're searched for or not isn't something he can care about, now that he's here. He hums, a little less excitable than he'd been.]

Okay.

[Time... to sleep. Let him at least roll off Greed to wiggle out of his jeans, first. Sleeping in jeans is actually criminal.]

Okay.

[He rises up to his elbows, watching Ling as he shimmies out of his jeans. It's a sight worth watching, yeah? But the smile fades off his face as he looks at him.

They're going to have to face reality when they wake up. They're going to have to deal with Ling's family; they're going to have to deal with Greed's family. Shit, he might even have to deal with Ling changing his mind, because it's one thing to run off into the evening and another to face that kind of decision in the morning light.

But for now . . . for now, he's got Ling on top of him, curled up and sighing in contentment. Greed haphazardly kicks the blankets up over them, and even manages to fall asleep, once he settles down and closes his eyes.

They manage to get a whole five hours before somebody's pounding at the door, and Greed groans, more than a little tempted to just bury his face in Ling's neck and ignore the world.

But ah, ah, business calls . . . he drags Ling along with him for this, because he might as well see the place his money is helping to buy. It's a three story building, which would work well for them. Area for a bar, plenty of open space for dancing . . . the first floor could be more of a food area, he tells Ling, and they lease it that day.

The rest of the week is busy, and not in a fun way. Finding a shady doctor, making sure each of his people got to their designated locations, throwing himself into renovating the club . . . it's a huge pain in the ass, and Ling is there for it all.

It's on purpose, of course. It's to show him this life isn't always so fun, and that he's still got a chance to back out if he wants to.

The last day is particularly hard. It's a lot of fussy things, fucking around with the electric wiring in the club, buying paint, yanking up carpet and laying out tile . . . it's hard work, difficult and unrewarding, and Greed collapses onto the couch the moment they return home. The apartment is empty, thank god, those few who were on bedrest well enough to at least return to their respective homes. So it's just the two of them, stuck in this hot little apartment, and idly Greed thinks it might just be worth the risk to go back home.]

[Business- Greed's business- is new and different compared to what he's used to. Sitting around long tables, bored, passing papers around to be signed - those things pale in comparison to actually getting to go out and look at things, to feel like he's participated in some way that makes an impact. It is, after all, his money that pays for the building, and the doctor, and more than a few renovations...

It's a long couple days for sure, and it's not fun, but there's a satisfaction that builds up in Ling's chest and settles there, a satisfaction for work worth doing and money well spent. So he's tired - and he whines, unsurprisingly, when he's exhausted and hungry, but he doesn't once say he wants to go back to his family, or wish he hadn't come along. A handyman and a professional worker he is not, but he can carry supplies back and forth and hammer a few nails, and at least his sunny attitude (before the Hungry Times) keeps morale a little higher than it would have been otherwise.

He's helping! Even Lan Fan is helping, grudgingly at first, finishing Ling's tasks for him before, by the last day, she volunteers in her quiet, scowling way. It's the only indicator that her opinion of Greed and company might be on the rise; Ling, for his part, cheerfully refuses to share anything they might have talked about between the two of them. The mystery!

On that last difficult day, when work is over, Ling doesn't even make it to the couch; he slumps face-first against the arm of it, legs on the floor before he tips forward and smushes head and shoulders into the seat cushion next to Greed. Hello, dearest...]

Tired... Is there still paint in my hair?

[There is definitely still paint in his hair.]

[He will never say so out loud, lest he encourage Ling even more, but it's sort of cute when Ling just emits one word to let people know what the problem is. It's way better than passive-aggressive little sighs and hints. ]

Mmhmm.

[He's going to need a proper shower. Greed is too, frankly, but getting up and going to the shower seems so much effort. Better to just stare at the ceiling and listen to the shouts of the streets, kids screeching as they open up a fire hydrant and adults talking and yelling.]

C'mere.

[It's his status update... Roll him outside to the fire hydrant and let the water revive him, and maybe even get some paint out of his hair, too. Or, Ling lies there in this stupid pose for another couple seconds, before he moves with considerable effort to whap his hand blindly in Greed's direction. He does not move more than this, but he does make a pathetic noise to demonstrate that he is, again, very tired.

He's here, please love him.]

That's pathetic.

[With a relationship comes honesty. But he groans and leans forward, grabbing his hand and yanking him towards him. It'll take a fair bit of wriggling on Ling's part, but he ought to end up atop Greed sooner or later.]

Lan Fan told me your family's sniffing around.

[Surprise! She doesn't hate him so much she won't speak to him. Progress?]

[Greed's dumped for the time it takes Ling to wiggle properly into his lap, then they're back on as Ling automatically curls up against him. It's hot, this is going to be uncomfortable soon, but he's too tired to think that far ahead.

Why are they still talking... he exhausted himself with the paint question.]

Let them. [...mm, okay,] I'm eighteen and I didn't take anything that wasn't mine, they can't do anything about me.
