once more with shitposting
[Reim is loath to think it's convenient that the city needs to be put back together after everything. There's been so much loss, they've all felt it—but having something to do after Pandora is dissolved keeps everyone's minds off those things, more or less, so. It's a little convenient. It keeps people busy, himself included.
Most people, anyway... Reim has more than enough to do, from ironing out the details of the relief efforts (it's-not-Pandora-but-it's-mostly-the-same-people is not a viable organization name, the struggle) to dealing with people on a much more individual level, including trying to integrate the remaining Baskervilles— he's never been more stressed in his life!!
Unlike some people apparently on a quest to ruin the only peace and quiet he has in his schedule - locking himself in his office to eat meals - in between everything else. It's just after he's been to check up on Duke Barma, who is surprisingly... robust, if bedridden, and he's escaped that harrowing exchange only to find his office invaded and some kind of food out. It smells like food. That's not the lunch he ordered??
He sighs. It must be every day of his life at once. He will address... the office:]
Xerxes, come out of there.
[he doesn't even know where, but he Knows it's somewhere.]

[What was he expecting?? Break's not going to get any less embarrassing, so just bear it and love him.]
You're blushing, aren't you? I can't imagine how red you'd be if we were inside.
no subject
Perhaps we should go back inside. Appropriately. I do have things to do before you can monopolize the rest of my time.
[Let him touch paper first or he'll go crazy.]
no subject
I'll go back inside with you now... if you let me kiss you at the door.
no subject
[He's exasperated by this apparent inability to just get up and walk, not genuinely wondering about this wild change of scenery. Worry not, the pettiness never truly goes away.
As such,] As much as I enjoy having you here like this, I will not be carrying you back inside.
[Win some, lose some?? He'll smooch at the door.]
no subject
[He is the worst boyfriend? Just give him another minute of sitting here, he's so comfortable... Truly Reim is being wasteful by not taking advantage of his size and letting him stay that way.]
You still have to be done before sunset. [He finally grumbles, dragging himself off Reim to stand up. He never should have left that bottle of wine somewhere? He needs it.] I'll be on a couch... somewhere.
no subject
So basically the same thing they were just doing, but rearranged so he can move back to his paperwork. Details.]
Be patient for once in your life, Xerx. [zarks] It will be sunset before you know it.
[Literally, because he can't see it. But a clock probably chimes helpfully, somewhere.]
no subject
Telling me to be patient is like telling you not to stress over the work. It won't happen. [He pauses.] ... I am sorry about the mess.
[his shitty grilled cheese and cookies]
no subject
["The excitement." A few smooches: excitement. With that mess misery fresh on everyone's minds, then, it's time to go back inside. All the way inside and back to work forever.
No, he stops at the door with an expectant hum. Thrill him, Mr. Competent Romance.]
no subject
He detaches himself from Reim's arm, moving in front of him to run his hands up his chest. He settles one over his heart and uses the other to trace the line of his jaw, taking a moment to picture his face in his mind before he leans up and kisses him. It isn't dissimilar from the first, this time - slow and deep - to savor the moment before he's left to his own devices.]
I am going to get better at this. [Not... this, but, in general.] So don't worry about anything but what's in there anymore, hm?
no subject
So, you know. He'll kiss him, and hold him close an extra couple seconds, and choose to believe that the more Break insists he'll get better at- existing, the easier it will be. Somehow... the power of suggestion.
It's a sweet gesture, anyway. He's ready for Break to crawl out of a cabinet and throw candy at him to make up for how sweet he's being, later.]
I think it's my job to worry about you now, actually. More than I did before. [hmph hmph] Don't think you have to get better on your own.
no subject
I'll tell you if I need you. [He smiles, tapping him on the nose before he draws his arms back. He probably won't do that as much as he intends, but... he's trying.] Now go back to paper pushing, moron. You know where I'll be.
no subject
Anyway... paperwork.] On a couch somewhere, of course. Don't make a mess.
[You know, again. He wouldn't have to say this like Break is 5 if he would stop making messes everywhere he goes; another thing to try harder at fixing.
But now they'll go off to do their own things for the day including but not limited to cleaning cookie crumbs out of a desk drawer, and come sundown Break will have to come pick Reim up himself for their evening date, because he may have stopped working but he also worked extra hard so he could stop and has now dozed off on his desk.
Other things Break will have to learn through touching everything, as is his way: he went and found that silly vampire novel, too. It's on the desk. Feel its gently embossed title.]
no subject
Reim? [But it's fine. He notices the distinct lack of scribbling away almost immediately. He blinks, then slowly smiles and walks around the desk., indeeding feel everything to make sure things are actually done. Reim gets to wake up to a gentle nudge rather than getting pelted with candy because he found that book.]
Wake up, dear. [nudge nudge] You owe me a date.
no subject
You're dressed. [HMM] How long was I asleep...?
[Is it tomorrow, did he sleep on his desk all night— no, surely not. But maybe. After this wholly romantic non-greeting he looks back at his desk to make sure he finished at least what he was planning to... yeah, good enough. He picks up the book, then stands. Still tired...]
I didn't intend to... [knock out on the desk] Well, let's go.
no subject
The night's young, unlike you. [Old man... He doesn't have any room to call him that, but whatever. He takes his free hand to lead him out of the office.] Did you dream of me~?
no subject
No. [He's honest,] Perhaps later, when I can go to bed properly.
no subject
[Not like... his old chain knight, though. Anyway, welcome to this lounge area that exists, he laid out a nice table in front of a couch that he probably stole from another room. It's probably the coziest it can get for old furniture that's probably meant to be antiques.]
no subject
[He's amused, and Break is a big loser, so everything is fine. Except for the fact that Break apparently felt it necessary to move furniture around... why? This whole mansion is available, why did he do that!! The greatest mystery of Reim's life is everything Break chooses to do, all the time.]
Is this where you've been all afternoon? [Rearranging rooms... sweet, but mysterious.]
no subject
[Let him have this... His only other activities are bothering Barma or artfully dodging Lily whenever she enters the same room. Break detaches himself so he can lay down on the couch, positioned so he ca just lay across Reim's lap when he sits.]
I thought this would be nice.
no subject
It is nice. Don't get moody; come here.
[Stupid old man... let him kiss.]
no subject
I missed you. [it's been a few hours,]
no subject
Well, as promised, I've cleared my evening schedule just for you. So... I'm all yours.
[He's just not picking up this book to read it, is he? No, not while he can indulge in affection first... yes.]
no subject
For now, it's not so bad. He's just not leaving it at one kiss, instead going in for another almost immediately after the previous. One turns to two, and two turns to three, then he remembers about how he freed his evening to do something else. Whoops.]
You know, I think I'm doing everyone a public service... this will keep you sane, as opposed to how you usually spend your nights.
no subject
Working... or with you and half a dozen different sweets. Hmm.
[He's saying only the kissing is different now, see. Very nuanced.]
You're certainly... [he tried, really, but he can't say "you're doing ME a service ;)))" because he's too Victorian. Ahem.] Well, I'm very relaxed.
no subject
It's the least I can do, after all the times you've relaxed me. [This could have been a sweet statement, but you know he's gotta go in for the teasing.] Did you like me back when I asked for those massages, Reim~?
