[Reim is loath to think it's convenient that the city needs to be put back together after everything. There's been so much loss, they've all felt it—but having something to do after Pandora is dissolved keeps everyone's minds off those things, more or less, so. It's a little convenient. It keeps people busy, himself included.

Most people, anyway... Reim has more than enough to do, from ironing out the details of the relief efforts (it's-not-Pandora-but-it's-mostly-the-same-people is not a viable organization name, the struggle) to dealing with people on a much more individual level, including trying to integrate the remaining Baskervilles— he's never been more stressed in his life!!

Unlike some people apparently on a quest to ruin the only peace and quiet he has in his schedule - locking himself in his office to eat meals - in between everything else. It's just after he's been to check up on Duke Barma, who is surprisingly... robust, if bedridden, and he's escaped that harrowing exchange only to find his office invaded and some kind of food out. It smells like food. That's not the lunch he ordered??

He sighs. It must be every day of his life at once. He will address... the office:]

Xerxes, come out of there.

[he doesn't even know where, but he Knows it's somewhere.]

[It sure has been a few hours. Reim kisses him fondly, and slips an arm around him to hold him close, but it's been a whole few hours. Break is needier than expected, or perhaps he just never voiced aloud how needy he is... How cute?? Sort of.]

Well, as promised, I've cleared my evening schedule just for you. So... I'm all yours.

[He's just not picking up this book to read it, is he? No, not while he can indulge in affection first... yes.]

[He's had several years of repressing this true needy self, and now Reim gets to witness all of it. Whether or not he will endure or enjoy it once the joys of getting together wears off remains a mystery.

For now, it's not so bad. He's just not leaving it at one kiss, instead going in for another almost immediately after the previous. One turns to two, and two turns to three, then he remembers about how he freed his evening to do something else. Whoops.]

You know, I think I'm doing everyone a public service... this will keep you sane, as opposed to how you usually spend your nights.

[Reading this vampire novel was Break's idea, so you know, Reim isn't complaining about getting distracted by kissing instead. He'd make a half-hearted effort if it was his book of choice, but nah, not today.]

Working... or with you and half a dozen different sweets. Hmm.

[He's saying only the kissing is different now, see. Very nuanced.]

You're certainly... [he tried, really, but he can't say "you're doing ME a service ;)))" because he's too Victorian. Ahem.] Well, I'm very relaxed.

[God, he's sooo lucky Break can't figure out what he was going to say. He raises his brows, occupying his hands by tracing the line of Reim's jaw. Hmmm.]

It's the least I can do, after all the times you've relaxed me. [This could have been a sweet statement, but you know he's gotta go in for the teasing.] Did you like me back when I asked for those massages, Reim~?

[A thoroughly bad man... Reim can't even appreciate this nice touch because it comes rolling in with some total nonsense. He makes a face that can only be described as overly serious for such a dingus level comment.]

Wouldn't you like to know! I should just let you wonder forever.

[He probably knows, but this is the prime opportunity to use his blind excuse to feel more of his features. He lifts his hand from his jaw, running his thumb over Reim's lips with a chuckle. Ah, he is frowning. How ridiculous.]

That'd be so cruel! I liked you back then. It isn't so hard to say.

[He is frowning, and now with a hand on his face and Break being a pain in the ass at him, he frowns harder. For emphasis. To prove a point. It's a good point.]

[It's a terrible point. Break pouts, cupping his face in both hands now.]

[He has the personality of an angry crab? Not for the first time, Reim is forced to acknowledge his questionable taste. He thinks for a moment, surely about to come up with something witty for this one - but no, never mind. Despite all odds, sap wins.

He sighs, covering one of Break's hands with one of his own.]

No... probably not. That isn't permission to be as annoying as possible on purpose— but I'll give you that point.

[Bad... and oh,] To be honest, I don't remember exactly when.

[Haaa, he wins this round with his wit and charm. Point to Break. He smirks, dragging his hands down his face to rest on his neck.]

I think... for me, it was seeing you hard at work after some time... I always knew you would do well in Pandora, but you went beyond expectations. [He hums, considering how that’s probably too sappy, then:] I almost thought you would be a brat forever!

[It's not wit and charm...... Reim is attracted to pathetic alcoholics...............

That is very sappy, though; Reim hums in place of raising a critical eyebrow. Very interesting!! He'll remember this sap.]

We can't all be middle-aged. [He pretty much is, though.] If all it took was doing your paperwork for you, we could have gotten this over with years ago.

[Well, Reim is being too much of an adult right now? This is not romantic. Break rolls his eye, moving to pull his cheek.]

[Um!! This is severely unromantic and Break is the child here. Reim, the adult, just turns his head a little away from his pinching hand. Stop...]

How do you know I haven't already? [....actually, wait, more seriously:] I haven't. Don't start.

[Reim started it? He drops his hand and leans his head back with a long, drawn out sigh. Just in case he didn't know he's the worst.]

It's not just fair, because you're on my mind all the time...! [he's kicking his legs now, like a mature adult.] If I can't contain it to a timetable, neither can you.

[This guy... Reim is very nice and doesn't tell him to stop kicking like a child, appreciate him. He hums, thoughtful, like he's deeply considering this sappy stuff Break is hitting him with again.]

Perhaps you should consider a hobby. [Ha, jokes. But don't, because heckling and crawling in cabinets is bad enough.] You're being very persistent about this... I do love you, you know.

[Oh, well, that does put a stop to his kicking... and everything else. Break sits still, mouth slightly open like he was going to come up with some other witty comeback before his mind went completely blank. He was talking about hypothetically loving him? Like, later? But Reim went and said things now and broke his old man lover. Great.]

I... [He starts, slowly sitting up and lowering his "gaze" to Reim's shoulder while he adjusts his hair needlessly. Even blind, it's ridiculously hard to properly face him during something so serious.] I love you too, Reim. You mean the world to me.

[There... enjoy the one time he's not following up with something stupid to make it anything less than what it is.]

[All things considered, that went better than Reim expected it to. It's been so long he doesn't really feel nervous about saying it, or anything - it's practically a fact of life!! Of course he loves this moron! - but Break is himself, and so there was always that minute chance that he'd make it into some kind of joke. Reim would have to be bothered. It'd be a whole ordeal.

But no, he's serious, which is nice. Reim gives him a couple seconds before he reaches up to take his hand and move it away from his hair; please, calm down...]

I know. [said that earlier, actually, but really—he knew these things. Reim leans down just a little to kiss his forehead, for his grand efforts. Good bf.] I wasn't trying to put you on the spot, but... I'm glad.

I'm glad. [And he is, but it's more or less repeating Reim because he doesn't know what to say. He'll certainly laugh about it later, and probably deny he ever froze up in the first place, but right now? Give him a minute to recover from getting slammed into reality with this, his heart can't take it.]

I didn't think I'd get to say that again. [He slowly leans his head back against Reim's shoulder, winding his arms around him to get comfortable again. Perks of large boyfriend: great pillow.] Another thing I should have done long before... we really were wasting so much time.

[It takes Reim a second to realize what he's talking about - and god, he's such an old man. That is something Reim won't think about for a whole variety of reasons, focusing on here and now instead; looping an arm around Break's waist when he gets settled.]

Well, you know how things are... [The world almost ending, he means, but also all those other things like social status and the part where they're probably not allowed to be seen in public like this! Those are the things he means.]

We have time now. You're an idiot if you think I'll let you run out on me. [tip: don't die]

[The day was far too exhausting to even entertain the idea, so Reim wins. Break's comfortable in more ways than one now, and the longer he leans against him like this, the less likely it is he'll be putting up a fuss. They came here to do something else... but he doesn't care anymore.]

Hmmm... Do you think anyone would notice if I left from your bedroom, Reim?

[Kinkshaming Break about his vampire novels will have to come later... that's alright, Reim wasn't dying to read it, either. They can read any time - maybe even in his own room, now that Break is already trying to move in.

Thankfully every bed in the world is large enough to fit 5 people at once.]

I don't think so... I've already told most of the servants I don't need anyone fussing over me or my room. [because, of course he has,] So I suppose you'll get away with it just fine.

[Reim complains that he's in his pajamas, then enables this? Hm. Break isn't complaining, though. The idea of getting back into an over sized bed where Reim isn't just looming over him is a great one.]

Leaving your room and wearing your clothes... I'll become quite spoiled. Don't stop me. [He loves it.] If we're just going to lay like this... I don't see why it can't be there.

Because I came all the way here with this book? [He says this so seriously!! but whatever, forget the book. Don't forget these snacks, though, bring the snacks? Reim nudges him to get up first.]
