[Oh, that knowledge is grating indeed, but the best way to get back at Emil—even if he hasn't actually done anything—is to stay nice and quiet. Lalli drops his hand, curling it against Emil's chest as he shifts and sighs and prepares to stay like this for as long as he needs to. Maybe he'll doze off!

Or maybe he'll, you know, finally open his eyes just enough to silently watch Emil. How long can he last...]

[Well, hiding and kissing would be a fun day, but Emil still looks pleasantly intrigued by this Sheep Town proposal. Basically a date...]

There Emil goes, trying to do something nice for him again! Maybe not as nice as, well, carrying him all over the countryside, but it's still a gesture that deserves... something in return. Lalli knows this.]

I'll buy you something, too. [A sweet? A dumb vest? Whatever makes Emil smile, Lalli supposes, but it still doesn't feel like the right thing to say. It's why, after a short pause, he ignores what he told Emil back in one of their earliest dreams and awkwardly adds:] ...Thank you.

[He looks off to the side for the briefest of moments, then quickly looks back over at Emil's dumb face to see if he's going to make things all weird again. Don't do it, Emil! Don't do it!!]

[Oh!! A whole thank you!! That's his very sweet boy, displaying basic human manners like a pro. Emil remembers being told not to make this particular thing weird, so he's not, he isn't-- he smiles and leans in to press a kiss to Lalli's forehead instead. There, see? No weirdness, only affection.]

Thank you, too. [He's looking forward to this Big Date already... truly he will never get any proper deep sleep. Now he's thinking about that, actually--] Am I going to be tired if I don't sleep in here? You've been in these things more than me.

[This forehead kiss is a much more acceptable response than the last one! Maybe, just maybe, he'll try thanking Emil again in the waking world, but he files that away for further consideration and lightly shakes his head.]

No. You aren't doing anything here.

[On many levels. How Emil winds up in these lucid dreams with him, Lalli has no idea, but it's just... another dream for him? At least, that's what he thinks. He could always discuss this at-length with Onni, just to get a more experienced mage's opinion, but—well, as long as it's not harming anyone or anything, then...

...Hmm. Lalli reaches back up to lightly touch Emil's cheek, brow knitting together as he studies his face as best he can in the dark. Is that concern? Possibly!!]

[You know, Emil has largely shelved the "how did I get in here and why" issue as something he just doesn't need to know, immediately. It would confuse him if someone could explain it, anyway! And the company is good-- if he were stuck in here with Reynir, he'd have some complaints to share.

But sure, not doing anything... just lying in a trash can that isn't real. He frowns, thinking about it, because being tired is a serious thing that needs careful consideration...? Whatever.]

Nnno, I don't think so. It took me so long to fall asleep in the first place.

[One day, Reynir will barge into one of their dream dates and turn it into an absolute nightmare. Count on that. Anyway, though: Not being tired is a sign that everything both inside and outside of this dream is probably fine, and Lalli hums, apparently satisfied, before settling his hand in that neat little crook between Emil's neck and shoulder. Why? [So asketh the person who is used to falling asleep at the drop of a hat.] You were yawning during dinner.

[Reynir is banned in advance, despite not knowing that this thing happens at all - he's banned. Emil will find a door purely to slam it in his face and it will be very satisfying. He draws another wiggly shape on Lalli's back, thinking.]

I— oh. Really? [Caught......] Well, ummm— I was thinking about you later on, so...

[Local boy thinks about crush and can't sleep, news as story develops.]

[Thinking about him when he's not around is a strangely pleasant thing to hear about, but... hmm, yeah, Lalli's definitely going to need some more details here. He thought about Emil after dinner, too, and he still managed to fall asleep just fine?? Huh.]

...About me, [he repeats, ending that sentence with a hum as he tries to draw the Accurate Conclusion™. Unable to fall asleep even though he was tired, strangely broken up sentences as he tries to explain—aha.] You were worried. ...About the goodnight kiss?

[Or about all of the other kisses? Look, Emil feels a doki for Lalli and has a difficult time falling asleep; Lalli feels a doki for Emil and sprints all across the countryside. They're just so different.]

No, not that. I wanted to see you! And yes, I was thinking about kissing, but I was... [hmmmnnh] excited, not worried.

[...Oh. Well. Excited is great; excited is something that Lalli fully understands, and he feels a strange little thrill as he realizes that he was the cause of it for someone else—no, for Emil. Hey, it's a real shame that he had a hard time falling asleep? That's sad? But the thought of Emil lying awake, thinking of what they did and what they've yet to do, is something that Lalli decides he likes very, very much, because he is both thirsty and needy. No roasts here.]

...Mmm. Good. [Good that he's not worried! Good that nothing's wrong? Good that he's thinking about the same things as Lalli, but instead of explaining any of this, Lalli tips up his chin a bit as he gives Emil a satisfied little look.] You should kiss me more tomorrow.

[Hmm, no roast? He's honestly expecting another judgmental Lalli Look at least, so for Lalli to just go ahead and approve instead is-- something else. There's a whole jumble of who's thinking about who thinking about them but the fact remains that Lalli says good and demands kisses, and Emil's stomach turns over from a nervous kind of excitement yet again. It's back. Oh boy.

But also this is the trash.]

Ah— in here? [He already kissed him in here, he should have met his quota... Buuut those little pecks were not the kind of kissing they seem to be talking about now.] Can we at least crawl out of the trash? Then I'll be happy to kiss you until morning.

[Happy to kiss him... ah. That's a wonderful thing to hear, something that makes him feel fifty things at once, but please, Emil, get with this trashy romance? Partly because the dream version of this thing isn't that bad, mostly because... well. Lalli lifts his head, shifting around a bit to actually look at that very familiar lid.]

...I don't know if we can. [He pauses, considering the possible outcomes before he simply huffs. Dreams...] If we try to leave, we might end this dream and go back to our own.

[Blocked by the inner workings of his own mind! Damn!!]

[Stuck in the trash... This is the worst. Emil glances toward the lid himself, frowning slightly - just how much does he want to kiss, that he will agree to trash kissing??

Well he wouldn't be fooling anyone if he said he wasn't in the mood for it after his too-excited-to-sleep bit, so.] Nnnnh-- alright! But tomorrow, I get to pick where! Now then, come here.

[Deal? Deal. He shifts to lean on one elbow and press his other hand insistently against Lalli's back to make it very clear what he means; come here, really get in there, ready yourself for smooching.]

[This is exactly what Lalli wants, and yet he fixes Emil with a flat look as he stubbornly refuses to move. ...For now, anyway. Listen, Emil, he likes you very much, but to go from whining to demanding... pfft. Pfft!]

[A place for talking, sure, but remember those scenic mud puddles? Yeah, that was some grade-A scouting, but before Emil can, like, pull his hand away and start sputtering some weak defense, Lalli abruptly scoots over to close the (admittedly small) distance between them. Hi. Hello. This is slightly different than awkwardly perching in Emil's lap, but he's just as solid and as warm as Lalli remembered; a hand presses against Emil's chest, then snakes up to his shoulder, gripping it tightly as Lalli tries to pull Emil right down to him.]

I was in a hurry!

[And that was for... Lalli's... sake? To get him to stop panicking? That's what Emil is going with, not that he'll say it, but he nods as if they've come to an agreement here and everything is settled.]

So— [So!!! Never mind, it seems, since Lalli pulls him down to get right to it and Emil makes a dumb noise before getting his act together and kissing him soundly. In the trash. In a dream, in the trash. You know, maybe he shouldn't think about it? He resolves to Not Think, sliding his hand up Lalli's back to get his fingers up into his hair instead.]

[A hand on his back is nice, but a hand tangled in his hair is better, somehow. Lalli tilts his head into the touch, unconsciously pressing the rest of himself against Emil as he continues kissing just as greedily—and as clumsily—as he had when they were actually awake. Yes, this is what he wants! This will certainly do for now, and he brings his other hand up to curl around the back of Emil's neck. Should he do something about Emil's hair? Maybe tuck it back out of the way?

...Well, probably, but here's the truth: he likes the way Emil's stupid, sparkly hair slips forward to brush against his face. Maybe this will change as the heat between them continues to grow, but for now... hmm, yeah, he focuses on deepening this kiss, enjoying the way this makeshift curtain means the only thing he can really see is Emil's face.]

[If his hair winds up in someone's mouth by accident, Emil is going to be upset. Upset enough to waste precisely three seconds whining but not too upset to keep kissing, the perfect balance. In the meantime he makes a dumb little noise into the kiss, almost giddily pleased to be pressed so close together, immediately forgetting about the trash...

But they could be even closer, he thinks, and since there aren't any laps available at the moment, maybe Lalli should just, like. Just roll right onto him, that sounds great before he has to manage the logistics of a bunch of limbs moving in a small space, but right now, it sounds great. Emil wiggles his other arm under Lalli with only a smidgen of difficulty and a meaningful nudge. Like, he can lift him. He's capable. But cooperate with his double-psychic communication.]

[He vaguely registers an arm working its way underneath him, but even the nudge goes unnoticed for a while longer, his brain taking its time to process that, oh, that was... a signal to move? Hmph. Pushy, he thinks, somehow both annoyed by and eager for this proposed shift. He likes where he is!

And yet he also likes the idea of Emil underneath him, making stupid noise after stupid noise as he nips his way down his neck. Yeah, that thought is what finally propels him to move, to sling a leg over Emil's hips and attempt to slide right on top of him, but it's not an entirely graceful process; his elbow thumps against the side of the can as he places a steadying hand near Emil's shoulder, head narrowly avoiding the same fate as Lalli pulls back to look at the person he's now hovering above. Just for a second, though. Just long enough to hopefully catch Emil's eye he lowers himself against him.

—Ah, but straddling him like this is better than Lalli even expected? Much better than straddling him on some rock, honestly. Lalli's hips roll downward of their own accord, prompting a quiet hiss to escape him before he leans in to greedily capture another kiss. So maybe it's his turn to make stupid noises...]

[Emil is about to get impatient, which here means just pushier than he already is, when Lalli finally gets with the program and moves. One jumble of limbs later (complete with Emil's dingus-level "uh, be careful" he mutters after Lalli smacks his arm into the side of the can) and he has just enough time to look up at Lalli with the usual amount of affection and nervous delight all over his face. Hello, yes, this is just as good as anticipated-!!

Actually very interesting, and Emil's first dumb noise of many comes just as their lips meet again, his fingers curling tighter in Lalli's hair. They can both make stupid noises, especially if Lalli is going to not just get up on him but also, uh, move. He should stay right where he is and, hmm, feel it out, something Emil conveys brilliantly by dropping his other hand down to rest on Lalli's thigh and squeeze lightly. He isn't exactly an experienced, gifted kisser here, but for a moment his eagerness gets the better of him and he has to stop, laugh breathlessly at himself, and tilt his head up to kiss again. Yes, this is going great, very high approval rating...]
