[Paolo really is a child. Jindosh looks at him like he doesn't even know what he's talking about, until he remembers the complaint about the pudding earlier. Oh my god?]
Whiskey is not exactly my drink of choice... [What's wrong with his tons of wine??] Or beer. Anything but whiskey or beer.
You're nuts. That's the good stuff. [Paolo is so disgusted with his choices right now. Still, he'll muss his hair before he stands.]
No whiskey and cigars tonight, mm... [He paused, then clasped his hands together with his face lit.] I'll mix our special down at the Crone's Hand. You'll like it, 's got sugar and everything.
[He's much more excited about this than he should be. Off he goes, taking up the dishes back to the kitchen to make Void knew what. He's true to his word, though, taking the time to make their drinks himself before he's walking back with them.]
[Jindosh hums in mild disapproval and pushes at his hand—don't do that to his hair, he looked professional. He doesn't think about how Paolo being so... cheerful and happy makes his heart turn over. There's nothing to think about; it does what it does and he's accepted it now. Paolo is cute.
Jindosh is still seated at the same table when he eventually returns, but he hasn't gotten caught up in his work again. On the contrary, while he does have a notebook out, he's doodling something instead. Just a sketch, a rough sketch for how little time it's been, and at a glance it's just a torso but when he adds a star creeping over one shoulder it's definitely Paolo.
He flips the page as casually as he can when Paolo comes back, looking up to pre-judge these drinks. He is innocent and did not do anything super gay while Paolo was out of the room, no. Hmm.] You will tell me what that is before you make me drink it, right?
[Paolo might have noticed if he weren't so wrapped in how great his drinks were, thanks. He spares a glance at the notebook, but the question is enough to throw him off the gay trail for now.] Nope.
[He sets a tall glass down in front of him, leaning against the table with an expectant look down at him.] Supposed to be in a short glass, but I like you. Try it. [He even put a cherry on top and everything. Love him while he's leaning to try and catch a glimpse at his "notes."]
I've heard, [Jindosh mumbles as he reaches for the glass. He'll be resettled in Paolo telling him he likes him every two minutes after he's had time to process that "love" part, so don't mind him for now. The drink he peers into, swirls a little, and then tastes with a small sip.]
It's sweeter than it looks. [Like some people in the room!! Ah, but he takes a fuller sip this time, and fuck it, Paolo can look at his gay sketch. He flips the page back to the right one and pushes the notebook at him, sitting back to stick his fingers in this glass to fish out the cherry. Charming.]
[Paolo made the mistake of taking his first drink when accepting the sketch, choking and hastily setting his glass back down. Thankfully, he didn't spit up on the paper, instead tracing his finger over the lines of his own shoulder.]
You're sweeter than you look. [He counters, like his smile wasn't a million times worse. Let him spend another minute or two looking at this, it's so nice.] 's long as you don't put my ugly mug in it, it'll be great.
[Like he doesn't have a painting of his face in his office.] Maybe you'll learn my back enough to get it by memory.
[Jindosh hums and rolls his eyes, busy with the cherry. He's going to draw Paolo's face, he has no use for this drawing at all and even less for a headless torso, so he might as well like looking at it. But that'll be a surprise for later.]
If you can hold still and let me have a good look. It will take twice as long if you keep turning around to kiss me.
That'd be challenging. [Paolo muses, holding out the notebook so he could replace it with his drink. It takes him a moment to actually think about it.]
I mean... I would though. [He admits after another sip,] It's gonna change sooner or later, but... if you want.
[Ooh, sketch time... Jindosh's eyebrows go up instantly with overt interest. Yes??]
Once I've memorized it as it is now, changes will be no more than a small edit. Here, and in here. [He taps the paper and his own head in turn. It'll be kind of romantic, Paolo.]
[At this rate, Paolo isn't ever going to stop smiling. Jindosh is awful for his image, but here he is, setting his drink down to stand and pull the shirt overhead. He carefully sets it aside on the table, then turns and straddles the chair with his back facing him.]
Gotta say, this is a lot nicer than what we usually do in here. [He reaches back for the glass, shoulders rising and falling with his chuckle.] I'm only doing this once, so make it count.
[Oh boy, right now? Even better. Jindosh hums and sets his drink down, picking up the notebook and turning to face Paolo completely. He flips to a new page - might as well start over - and scoots his stool a little closer.]
This isn't where I like to sketch, ordinarily, but the lighting is better. [And putting Paolo on a couch instead of backwards on a chair would no doubt end in distracting kisses more quickly. So.] And please—I'll have plenty more opportunities to see you bare.
[But he will dutifully start his drawing, occasionally murmuring for Paolo to turn a little this way or that, touching him gently with fingertips or the blunt end of his pencil.]
Just hoping those times I'll be bare for other reasons. [Paolo mumbled, rolling his shoulders and settling in. For someone who couldn't spend a few minutes without putting his hands on Jindosh, he remained still until Jindosh's were on him.
The more minutes past and the more sips he took, though, is when he resisted the urge to glance over his shoulder less and less.] Haven't even gotten one kiss. This is worse than the torture, Kirin.
[Stop being so impatient. Jindosh pokes him between the shoulders to mean something to this effect, scooting his stool a little closer again. Hmm.]
I did tell you I would make it worth your while. [Like, okay, that was about the other thing, but never mind that.] I'll kiss you when I've finished my sketch and some of my drink.
[So in a few minutes, if Paolo can hold out that long... Jindosh leaning forward is preceded by the sound of him putting his notebook down and his hand sliding to rest on Paolo's waist, followed by a kiss pressed to the back of his neck. There, enjoy.]
Knew you'd like it. [Paolo set his glass aside half empty, sighing as if waiting was the worst thing to ever happen to him. He could complain, but he won't, and he finds he's glad he didn't.]
Should get ink there... Something you'd like. [He leaned back into his hold, turning his head to try and get a better look at him.] Another star? A gear? Not a bird's head...
Don't put a gear there. That's ridiculous. [It would also look really stupid, but never mind. A bird head would look fine, very scary, but it's not Paolo's animal theme of choice so he won't make a case for it...
But anyway, Jindosh slides his arm further around Paolo's waist, since this gay pseudo-cuddling thing is apparently happening.] Why not just have my name inked in? That's straight to the point.
Oh yeah? [Paolo laughs initially, but his gaze casts down to the floor in thought. Another idea? No, he'll play with this one.] In the uh... font you have on your brand. Pretty sure she'd stab me if I ever suggested it.
[Not that he would... he thinks. This gay pseudo-cuddling is nice, though, so he'll lean his head back in some attempt to reach his lips.] I am yours, after all.
You'd like it. [He smirks, leaning forward after the kiss to expose his neck again.] You can probably see it now, right? I'd even let you write it on me to try on for size, gone by morning.
[Paolo's drinking has thankfully made him ignore that Mindy was going to see his back, so he only struggles to stop moving because he's laughing. He bites his finger and looks ahead with a grin, like he was absolutely not supposed to be doing this but it just too thrilling.
He doesn't feel so old and tired with Jindosh. It's nice.] Better be big and bold. Don't wuss out on me.
[Jindosh has never felt old a day in his life, so he can't relate. Paolo makes him feel something new that fills in the dark spots in his mind with something pleasant, though, so—there is that.]
It's going to look foolish if you keep fidgeting. Be still... [It's still probably going to be a little less than precise, since he's never tried to duplicate the dramatic lines of his own logo on someone's neck before, but here goes. When he's through he sits back with a hum, considering it.]
You like it? [Paolo nearly stretches his arms, but freezes just before. He's careful in leaning back instead, actually making an effort not to smudge anything. Since when did he care about these things??
Jindosh is making him a good person and he hates it.] Be honest.
[Jindosh has never made anyone a good person, Paolo must be confused. He puts the pen down and considers the ink again, this time while he wiggles his fingers against Paolo's stars. Hmm!!]
Something to consider, then. [Paolo says with a wink. Is he joking?? Is he serious?? Another one of his secrets.]
[It's been like, three whole minutes without kissing. He's turning in his chair to change that.] Doubt you ever wanna try Howler's on for size, but you let me know if that changes.
[Getting a tattoo? He couldn't bear it. What a suggestion. Also Mindy would probably write something awful on him that he could never ever remove, and he doesn't even know her!! See.]
Don't get your hopes up, now. [He may, however, have a kiss. Jindosh is a man of his word, so tilting Paolo's chin up to kiss him properly is definitely happening.]
