...Still, Snufkin follows Moomintroll's lead and looks up above. He, too, is weak for stars, although his fondness stems from, mmm, a sense of... wonder. Sometimes a Snufkin likes to look up at the night sky and ponder what, exactly, is going on up there, you know? Who lives among the stars... what do stars look like up close...
But why they like the stars isn't all the important; the fact that they both do is all that really matters in the end. It's another thing for them to share, and that makes Snufkin feel a small burst of fondness for his friend. He is... so good. In so many ways. A wonderful Moomin.]
I'm not so sure about that.
[Moomintroll would do a fine job and they both know it! But—alright, alright. The best way to summarize this lovely evening would be to think of a new song, and yet... hmm...]
It's like a party, don't you think? The bugs are the noisy guests, the wind is the music, the stars are the lanterns... [This shitty poetry could go on, but. He'll rein it in, all so he can lean over Moomintroll's way.] There's just less lemonade.
[Or, well. No lemonade. Sad.]
meanwhile
Either way: he just likes to hear Snufkin talk about... anything! He looks at the clearing again, while Snufkin paints his beautiful word picture, trying to visualize this nature party. It hardly lasts long, because his gaze darts back to Snufkin pretty much the second he moves. Uhhh, habit? Hi, Snufkin.]
To be fair, you didn't put any lemonade on the map. I'd have brought some if you had.
[And quite possibly wiped out with it when he tripped earlier, but the attempt would have been made. Still, he says it in good humor, leaning minutely towards Snufkin in turn.]
If we're having our own party all the way out here, does that mean you're going to dance? [click those heels together, buddy] I could hum for a change.
[This is only like, 70% gentle teasing. Get turnt, Snufkin......]
meanwhile x2...
Well, it's a good thing that Moomintroll moves right along! Teasing is much, much easier to deal with, which is why he doesn't even bother to move back. They're fine like this? This is fine. Comfortable.]
I've never been much of a dancer. [A lie? Hmm. He cants his head to the side, giving Moomintroll an amused, almost appraising sort of smile.] But I would like to hear your song.
[Time to show off that creativity, Moomintroll. He trapped himself so neatly.]
who is this creature
Oh— oh yeah, yeah, of course, I can do that. I have [ahem] plenty of songs. Just loads.
[For example, he remembers more or less most of Snufkin's songs, as well as he can, in a world where only one Snufkin plays music and the radio only plays one song ever. That is: ...passably, but that wouldn't be impressive. He's learned his lesson about trying to fit himself into a role that isn't his, so remixing Snufkin's songs isn't the point. If he's really going to come up with his tune, then what should it be about...
Well, he is going to hum something, the best he can, starting with idly tapping out a rhythm on his knees. The tune itself isn't a work of art; something wandering, trying to get its sea legs as it goes along, in a manner of speaking- humming- very Moomintroll at its center. Specifically, the Moomintroll who sneaks away from parties to spend time alone with Snufkin and hum little songs, while the Moomintroll that leans on theatrics takes the night off. He's just humming his little nonsense tune, leaning closer to Snufkin, not making it a whole thing— it's nice! Don't mind his subpar melody.]
